Joseph’s & Edgar’s Workshop Schedule:
Friday, February 27th - Sunday, March 1, 2026

  • Two men sitting cross-legged on a bench in front of a sign, smiling. One is wearing glasses and a brown jacket, the other is wearing a light blue shirt.

    Yin, Pranayama & Meditation - Fri, 2/27: 6pm - 8pm

This workshop will explore the connection between breath, body, and mind, through pranayama (breathwork) techniques, soothing Yin postures that gently target the body’s connective tissues, and meditation, allowing the stillness to integrate and settle within. The natural intelligence of the breath, when unobstructed, is powerful for healing on many levels and can show us how to tune in and let go.

  • Two men practicing yoga outdoors near water, sitting in a crouched pose with smiles, one shirtless with tattoos and the other wearing a light-colored shirt and striped pants, with boats in the background.

    Led Primary + Conference - Sat, 2/28: 9am - 11am

The led full primary is a powerful part of the Ashtanga experience, a dynamic and meditative sequence that connects breath and movement in a precise flow. This class is led in the traditional Sanskrit count, offering an opportunity to experience the rhythm and discipline of the method as taught in Mysore, India. Come ready to sweat, breathe, and move with intention.

  • Two men sitting cross-legged on the ground, meditating with their eyes closed, against an orange wall.

    Jump Back and Jump Through - Sat, 2/28: 1pm - 3pm

Jump backs and jump throughs require you to tap your muscular potential and embrace raw physicality. At the same time they require you to move your body with a nuance that triggers a sense of lightness. In this class we will break down the subtle body mechanics that make graceful transitions possible and then practice drills that get you connected to your base and the strength required to float.

  • Two people sitting on yoga mats in a yoga class, holding their legs in a stretching pose, with two women in the background stretching.

    Mysore Style Ashtanga Yoga - Sun, 3/1: 9am - 11am

Experience the heart of Ashtanga Yoga with a Mysore-style practice, where students move through the Ashtanga sequence at their own pace with one-on-one guidance from the teacher. In this special class, you cultivate responsibility for your own practice while receiving individual attention, support, and adjustments tailored to your needs.

  • Two men practicing acro yoga indoors, with one man balancing upside down and the other supporting him, both smiling.

    Handstands Skills & Drills - Sun, 3/1, 1pm - 3pm

Get off your feet and on your hands in this fun and challenging all levels workshop that will play with not just handstands, but a variety of hand and arm balances. We’ll explore the relationship between strength, flexibility and leverage in getting upside down as we break each posture into its core components. You'll leave this workshop with a clear idea of where you need to get stronger and where you need to let go.

Joseph Armstrong is a level 2 teacher of Ashtanga Yoga, having received authorization from Paramamguru Sharath Jois in 2019 . He teaches yoga with feet planted firmly in tradition and gaze turned towards the future. His search for a more present and peaceful life first led him to the practice in 2008. A few years later he was in India, studying intensively. After finally overcoming a long struggle with addiction, Joseph began experimenting with Ashtanga Yoga. He understood quickly that the lineage was calling to him to deepen his practice. He underwent a 2 year apprenticeship program at the world renowned Miami Life Center, continuing his education under his teachers Tim Feldmann and Kino MacGregor. In 2016 he completed 2 months of study in Mysore under Sharath Jois. 2017 brought Joseph to Guatemala where he taught Mysore Style for over a year while also traveling and giving workshops in Europe and the Americas. 2019 brought him back to Miami and his yoga family at MLC. Joseph teaches yoga because attempts to do any and everything else ended disastrously. But when he finally devoted himself to his passion, he became an asset to himself and others. He hopes his practice allows him to be ever more loving and to exist gently.

Edgar Navarro is one of the directors of Miami Life Center, a vibrant yoga studio nestled in the heart of the energetic city of Miami.
